Vilamoura makes it possible to play several distinct courses without changing accommodation. The official Vilamoura Golf portfolio includes Pinhal, Old Course, Millennium and Laguna, giving a group enough variety for a multi-round trip while keeping the marina, beaches and restaurants within the same destination.

Start with the shape of the trip, not the number of courses

It is tempting to fill every morning with a tee time. A better first question is how the group wants the holiday to feel. Three rounds over a five- or six-night stay leave space for arrival, weather changes, practice and a beach or marina day. A more golf-focused group can add rounds once travel times and energy levels are clear.

Mixed groups need an especially balanced plan. Staying near the Old Village and marina gives non-golfers independent options while players are on the course, instead of making everyone share the same transport schedule.

Pinhal: the nearest reference point

Pé no Mar & Golf is near Pinhal Golf Course. The official course describes a classic parkland layout with pine-lined fairways, elevation changes and a strategic design. Pinhal is also home to the Vilamoura Golf Academy, with a driving range, short-game area and putting green.

That makes Pinhal useful as an opening round or a practice day. Even when the distance looks manageable, organise transport around golf bags and the required clubhouse check-in rather than judging the journey as an ordinary walk.

How the other Vilamoura courses change the week

  • Old Course: a historic, pine-lined parkland course and a natural choice for players who value mature design and setting.
  • Millennium: another option within the official Vilamoura portfolio, useful for adding variety to a multi-round stay.
  • Laguna: a different course character within the same portfolio and another way to avoid playing the same style all week.

Course conditions, maintenance, event schedules and availability change. Compare the operator's current descriptions and book the courses that suit the group's handicaps and preferred level of challenge.

Before booking accommodation

Check that the most important tee times are available for the same dates. Then choose the stay, flights and secondary rounds around those anchors.

A practical tee-time checklist

  • Reserve through the official course operator and keep the confirmation accessible offline.
  • Check current handicap, dress and check-in requirements for every player.
  • Confirm club, trolley or buggy hire in advance rather than assuming availability on arrival.
  • Allow time for the clubhouse check-in and practice before the tee time.
  • Plan water, sun protection and the pace of the day for the season.
  • Keep one flexible period in the itinerary in case weather or travel affects a round.

What matters in an apartment between rounds

A golf apartment is more than somewhere near a course. A kitchen helps with early breakfasts; a terrace gives the group a place to unwind; reliable Wi-Fi keeps bookings and travel details easy to manage; and parking matters when clubs are moving between several courses.

Pé no Mar & Golf has a fully equipped kitchen, central air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a private terrace and one guest parking space inside Solar do Golf. It sleeps up to four guests, with two single beds in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. The condominium pools and gardens give the stay a quieter counterpoint to the golf schedule.

A balanced five-night golf plan

  1. Arrival: settle in, collect any supplies and confirm the first tee time.
  2. Pinhal: use the nearby course as the first round and keep the evening local.
  3. Recovery day: pool, beach or marina, with optional academy practice.
  4. Second course: choose Old Course, Millennium or Laguna based on the group.
  5. Flexible final day: a third round, practice session or relaxed Vilamoura day.

For longer stays, alternate golf and lighter days. The trip will usually feel better than a run of early starts with no room to enjoy the destination.
